Tomorrows internet and the future of marketing

The past few years have brought quite a lot of changes to the internet. From social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, to social media sites like YouTube.

The web developers from my Lincoln, Nebraska internet marketing company are always trying to project what the future will bring to the internet. Everyone is looking for that next big thing. One way to get an idea on what the internet will bring to the future is to look at what its doing now and where we have came from.

The internet used to be an internet of static pages that the person viewing the pages could only read them. Nowadays, with the invention of Web2.0, the viewer can actually engage the writer of the content, add to the content of the page and even ask questions.

I mean, the power in that concept is awesome! I can remember the days that reading a book or article was about the only contact that I would have with the things I was most interested in. Today I don't even need to wait to find information, no walking to the library, or waiting for my next text book in the mail. In an instant I am connected to my information and a bunch of other enthusiasts related to it!

The top social networking sites are great, but there is still a lot of power in blogs and forums. Don't under-estimate them! Blogs and forums are very content driven, compared to social networking sites which are mainly used for networking. Blogs and forums also make it to the search engine results pages because they hold a lot of quality information.

The modern internet has also brought the ability to search out and locate information better than ever before. The search engines of today can now index complete sentences from website pages into their directories, instead of just being able to index keywords into their index's. This is a huge leap from the algorithms of Web 1.0.

While the modern algorithms are a step ahead of the algorithms of Web 1.0 they still are not able to interpret the concepts behind the content that they are indexing.

The current internet is flawed and as more people learn to capitalize on these flaws, the internet will become even harder to efficiently index information. At the current state, the internet has over 24 billion pages and is growing at rates unimaginable.

We all are waiting eagerly for the arrival of Web 3.0. Its not until its arrival that the full potential of the internet will be realized. This internet will be able to understand the content that they are indexing. Like a human, it will be able to make decisions.

This internet is often called the semantic web, or the intelligent web. This internet will be made up of completely new languages that will index information. The switch over to Web3.0 will create a lot of work for search engine optimization specialist's.

All 24 billion pages in the internet will have to be gone through! If the pages do not include this new code they simply will not be indexed in the rankings.

We are still years ahead of this transition. The time is now to begin learning and studying these new languages. When Web 3.0 does arrive, there will be plenty of work for all of us!

Here is another great article about the future internet.
